Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The school year is beginning and I have the opportunity to teach Kindergarten again. I am very excited to help these students learn and grow socially and academically. These students come from an area with high poverty, and have much less than others. Yet, the pattern I notice year after year is that they tend to still be very grateful for anything they receive. I look forward to making school a safe, comfortable, and fun place for the students to learn.

My Project

Our school has a new uniform dress code and all my students are coming to school in their uniforms. The only problem I noticed is that several students are arriving in the morning with just a shirt and pants. Most of the students come without a black jacket even though it is chilly trying to adhere to the uniform code. I would like to ask if anyone would like to donate some money to help provide these students with a simple black jacket to keep them warm. If the students are warm then they can play outside more comfortably especially with the changing of the season.
