This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our schools mission is to prepare students with academic and life skills for success in college, career, and beyond. In order to do so, we work to identify and remove barriers to academic success.
We believe that financial difficulties at home should never be a barrier to a student's academic success.
This school year we have already provided uniform assistance to over 20 students whose families were experiencing financial difficulties. We would like to continue this support throughout the year, as needed.
My Project
This project would further stock our schools pantry for students in need. With generous support from donors across the country, our school created a pantry stocked with uniform items, school supplies, personal hygiene and self care items, and take-home food for students experiencing homelessness or housing difficulties. This project extends that support to students that are experiencing family financial difficulties.
By providing access to uniform pants we can help ease the burden on families experiencing financial difficulties and ensure that financial difficulties are not a barrier to a student's academic success.
The uniform pants that I am requesting, will be available to families upon request or by referral from school staff.
