UNICEF Kids Power Bands--Encouraging Kindergarten Movement
Help me give my students UNICEF Kid Power Bands so they can continue tracking their movement throughout the day in order to be successful in the 150 minutes of movement initiative.
My students are eager to learn new things daily. My students come from a Title 1 school setting and are a CPE site, which is 100% free breakfast and lunch. My students are excited to learn and are hard working in a varied academic range.
I teach 22 kindergarten students, and we are part of the Shape Montana classroom, encouraging students to be active for 150 minutes per week in school, besides recess and gym.
We have a diverse group of active learners.
My Project
The UNICEF Kids Power Bands will be used in the classroom to encourage movement. We will wear these in connection with the SHAPE Montana 150 Minute Movement Program. We will track our movement in our kindergarten class and show how this can increase test scores and behavioral incidents. The students will learn how to graph their movement throughout the day and show their knowledge of graphing and reading different types of graphs. The movement will be outside of the recess and daily gym activity. Kindergarten needs the daily movement to increase focus and work completion. The UNICEF Kids Power Bands will be easy to use for kindergarten students.
The use of the UNICEF Kids Power Bands will help our kindergarten students learn healthy habits and support hungry students around the world.
The students will show the importance in the purchase of these bands and how this can change not only their lives but also individuals they have never met.
