Understanding the Rise of Fascism in 1930s Germany

Help me give my students an opportunity to learn one of the most important lessons in history by playing one of the most imaginative recent games.

My Project

Gamification means making learning fun. My students really benefit when they have the opportunity to learn in an interactive way. Games are a time honored way to take advantage of students natural eagerness to learn by doing. They also encourage social interaction and the soft skills that are so important for them to develop.

Once of the most difficult (and important) topics to teach in world history is the rise of fascism in Europe in the 1930s.

How was it that the leaders responsible for the holocaust were able to gain power and carryout their terrible plan?

To answer this question, students need to understand the role of deception in politics, even in democracies and they can learn how it all happened by playing the ingenious and original game: Secret Hitler.
