Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students I serve are from various ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, I would like to bridge this gap, and provide to my students facts and understanding about the world in an interesting format.
The students are anxious to learn and amaze me daily with their perseverance.
Many are raised in homes that speak only a foreign language and have no books. They are serious and dedicated in the classroom and spontaneous and fun once they hit the playground!
My Project
Real life magazines such as "Time for Kids" and "Weekly Reader" hit the heart of the curriculum. Students are intrigued when they begin to understand they live in a world that is full of exciting and challenging events that affect their lives. Students will learn factual information and I will guide them to take action regarding the topics that excite them.
It is important that I inspire and support the students while they pursue their passions.
Through these readers the students will be exposed to topics that occur in the world and even in their immediate area. There is a strong connection that is made from the student to the real world through reading non-fiction.
Edition 3 - 4 with Around the World (Grades 3 and 4) Pricing is valid for orders placed after March 2010. After August 15th of current school year, pricing will remain in effect but TIME For Kids reserves the right to prorate issue quantity and free gifts. Only valid for orders in quantities of 10 or more. Orders for less than 10 subscriptions will NOT be fulfilled.
