This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Teaching in a low income area can sometimes be difficult. My students face challenges that others children and even adults do not have to worry about. That is why once they walk into my classroom, it is a safe place. It is a place where they can explore, learn and express themselves without consequence. Above all else, they can be children.
My kids are fun and energetic.
Each one of them contribute something to my class, which makes it feel like a family. They want to be at school and look out for each other while they are there. They inspire me more than I inspire them. I hope to continue to foster an environment that cultivates them into life-long learners and productive members of society, despite their circumstances.
My Project
My students will be able to understand concepts through hands on learning with these resources and manipulatives. Students are allowed to use calculators on certain skills and need to practice. A lot of materials cannot be shared because of COVID, and/or COVID has not allowed for families to purchase materials. My school has teachers rotate so having the cart will help me to easily transition from class to class.
Thank you for helping my students continue to master learning in the midst of a pandemic.
You help is greatly appreciated by my students and myself.
