Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing Kindergarteners that love to learn, be kind, and make a positive impact on others. We are a Title I school that struggles getting the supplies needed, but my students use their creativity to help find new and different ways to learn.
Each day, my students come to school ready to learn.
Each day provides them with an opportunity to grow their brains and souls. My goal, as their teacher, is to prepare them not only for first grade, but for the world beyond. I want them to embark on a journey of being a lifelong learner.
My Project
Having a backpack cart and cubby system will help alleviate the chaos and confusion of the construction going on in my class. Having a designated space where my students can place their belongings will help with the reconfiguration of our beloved classroom space. My classroom is currently under construction. My classroom closet which I use to store their backpacks, coats, lunchboxes, and water bottles, is being demolished. They will be removing the closet to make my classroom wheelchair ready. The backpack rack will be placed outside while the cubby system will be placed inside to have a space inside for lunchboxes and water.
