Help me give my students the supplies they need to play Ultimate Frisbee. We play outside in the winter, so we need a waterproof bag to hold the other supplies we are requesting: gloves, hand warmers, first aid.
This project expired on March 9, 2020.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Middle schoolers are rambunctious and strange. They need a special kind of love, both freedom and tight boundaries. Middle school is where they can start playing team sports for free, directly after classes.
My students at AL Stanback benefit from the boundaries and freedom of Ultimate Frisbee.
A growing sport, popular in many other schools, is one of the few coed sports played outside, during the winter. It is run on Spirit of the Game, which means they are their own referees. Players default to kindness over competition. We need more of this.
We are a school team sport, but not funded by the school. As we grow in popularity, our supplies need to grow too. I am coaching 30 students this year, most of whom are new to this sport.
We practice outside during the winter, which means cold fingers and toes.
We need gloves, hand warmers, pinnies, and a water proof bag that can stay outside during winter practices.
Gloves provide warmth and grip, pinnies allow us to see who is on each team when we scrimmage, the bag will store all of our supplies. The first aid kit will have everything we need when kids get bumps and scrapes, we will use these supplies every day and I will also use them with the Ultimate Club. This club happens every Friday morning during the first 40 minutes of school and reaches an additional 20 students.
