Our students come from a very diverse background. Most of our students are Hawaiian or have Hawaiian connections through their families. Our class has students with various intellectual disabilities but that never stops them from wanting to learn new things and having a great life.
When my class has fun learning, they want to learn more.
They want to learn new things. They want a voice in learning every day. This year I would love to have my class learn to play the ukulele. They love music, especially Hawaiian music. Their favorite artist is Israel Kamakawiwoʻole. With a few new nice ukuleles they could learn to play like him.
My students are so special in so many ways. With their disabilities, they just want to be like everyone else. They can do more when they have fun.
My students love music. They especially like to hear me play Ukulele. I want them to learn how to play with me this year and for years to come. With two new really nice Martin Ukuleles, they would feel like they were professionals. They would enjoy playing and listening to a quality ukulele instead of a play one.
Since quality goes along way, these ukuleles should last for years and years.
When they play a quality uke, they can hear what one is supposed to sound and play like. Since I learned how to play from a Grammy-winning artist here, I want to pass along all I know about music here. I want them to love playing as much as I do.
