My Students

Elementary music students have missed out on so much this year! We can't sing inside or use recorders so our music making ability is much reduced. This year, we've only been able to access boomwhackers and a few hand-held percussion instruments because these are easy to clean. These students LOVE making music but their options have been so limited due to Covid and limited resources.

These kiddos deserve an experience of joyful music making that is safe, authentic and meaningful.

My Project

The purchase of these ukuleles will allow students to have a joyful, hands-on music education experience that is safe, effective and authentic! Students of all ability levels will be able to access the instruments as I will color-code each instrument to support the diverse learners we have at our school. While sadly we can not yet sing indoors, these will allow student to make (and learn about) music in a fun, safe and age-appropriate way!

These will also help support multi-modal and cross-curricular learning that has been missing since the pandemic started- including fine-motor and step-following skills.
