My Students

"What songs are we learning today?" My music students are eager to play music, sing and dance in my classroom. We perform everything from folk music to Broadway hits! Jazz to R&B to Rock and Roll to Hip Hop!

Music is essential to unlocking a child's imagination and creativity.

My goal as a music teacher is to expose my students to as much music as I can so that they can be educated consumers and producers of music for a lifetime.

My Project

I would like to teach ukulele in my music classes so that students can play along with folk songs and so they can accompany songs that they write. The ability to make music and express oneself through music is a valuable skill for good times and when times get rough.

The skills they learn on the ukulele can transfer easily to guitar.

The earlier these habits and skills are started, the more likely they are to continue for a lifetime.

These ukuleles will allow them to get a headstart on a lifetime of music.
