My Students

Our students are a great group of developing musicians that are in need of some new ways to explore music reading and becoming life long music makers. Our school population is a melting pot of languages and cultures and a stringed instrument of this variety spans many musical genres.

My Project

These ukuleles will allow our students to learn a new style of music notation and also learn an instrument that can be played for the rest of their lives. At Lancashire, we currently have enough instruments for a small class, but many of our larger classes have to share instruments. With these ukuleles and an electric ukulele, we will be able to provide a one on one learning environment as well as opportunities for performance. The ukulele club at Lancashire will also be able to accommodate a greater number of students at home than it has in school in the past! Learning an instrument is a great way to pass the time while quarantined with family.
