Help me give my students an opportunity to make music with these ukuleles. The music department at my school does not have many instruments to use. The kids would be blown away by the opportunity to use ukulele's.

My Students

My students work hard even when the toughest moments are upon them. A lot of my students come from difficult homes where they aren't receiving basic needs in order to be successful. They truly demonstrate resilience and grit every single day.

My students care about their education but unfortunately some of them are faced with greater challenges throughout their day.

Some are the oldest child in their household and are forced to be a caregiver for their younger siblings starting at a very young age. Music gives them a chance to let all of that go and create something special with the rest of their class.

My Project

Ukuleles are great teaching tools for music teachers. As a music teacher myself, I would be able to teach dynamics, tempo, reading chord charts, measure numbers, bar lines, fine motor skills, ear training (when tuning our instruments), working together as a team, and musical style.

These instruments will help motivate my toughest classes to create something truly magical and something they will be proud of.

Ukuleles are fairly easy to learn quickly so for students who have lots of self doubt, they will find success with something quickly. There are so many songs that are familiar to kids that can be played on the ukulele.
