My Students

Our northern Minnesota school houses 3 year old preschool through 12th grade; this is a challenge, but also great for teachers to get to know the students and continuously provide targeted instruction for students’ individual needs. Within our small school, we have one music classroom and one music teacher - me.

As their only music teacher, I’m hoping to help students become more engaged and involved in music making through both vocal and instrumental experiences, to ensure they benefit from the lifelong skills learned through music education.

My Project

Students throughout my K-12 classroom have shown more interest in learning music, especially with ukuleles, since we received a class set through a previous DonorsChoose.org project. Unfortunately, kids can be quite clumsy and a few of our protective instrument cases have been forced to retire.

This project's wish list of ukulele accessories would benefit my students learning through continued and expanded opportunities to use and perform music.

As our school's music program grows the need for quality and quantity of instruments increases. Without your support my school cannot provide my students diverse opportunities through the music program, which students crave and deserve.
