I work with the most amazing group of students each and everyday! A large portion of our students love music and appreciate the joy it can bring into their lives. We have a solid band, orchestra, and choir program and would love more opportunities to reach those students who aren't as interested in those more traditional music activities. I believe this project is perfect to reach and connect with those students!
Our students come from a wide range of cultural and socio economic backgrounds.
I believe this is what makes our school such a special place to be. We have students with so many different life experiences but all of those come together through the gift of music. All 6th and 7th grade students at our school get the opportunity to participate in music classes and all 8th graders have the opportunity through elective classes. Music is big part of our school and we want to continue making those musical experiences more diverse.
My Project
We have been blessed with a number of ukuleles for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes. Our students love playing the ukes, but we often have larger classes sizes and can use up to 40 or 50 ukuleles at a time. We really need a quick way to get all of ukuleles in tune and ready to play.
We'd also like to be able to teach our students to tune their own ukuleles so they can play at home and enjoy the experience away from school.
Using a combination of the tuners and some basic knowledge of how the tuning keys work, we can prepare our students for practicing when they are not in school.
These electronic ukulele tuners will help us meet both of these goals! Please consider supporting this wonderful project and let's turn these new ukuleles players free to practice and improve at school and at home.
