This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach some of the most amazing kids in my city. I love working with them and giving them the chance to make music. My school is so wonderful and my students deserve the best! We have optional bound classes with all types of students from all walks of life. The students are so caring and thoughtful due to our hugely diverse population. We see around 950 students each week in music class for one hour a week. These students deserve the best everyday, and that is how you can help!

My Project

My students need these ukulele and guitar tuners to better maximize their class time in music. Currently I am tuning all of the instruments with one guitar tuner, which is very time consuming and also does not give the students the opportunity to learn how to tune their instruments. Because the strings fluctuate, it is best to tune before each class. It is also important to change the strings on the instruments for good upkeep. We want to take good care of our instruments!

Students need the opportunity to learn how to tune their instruments in order to play a ukulele or guitar not just in music class, but also at home.

I want to give the students a talent that they can keep with them forever. Thank you in advance for giving my students this opportunity.
