My students need ukuleles to enhance their learning of music! These instruments will be used by several grades and will be a twist on learning classic musical concepts.

My Students
I teach almost 400 students (K-12) in a rural Minnesota district. All elementary students have music twice a week. A lot of our students are on free/reduced-price lunch, and many take food home on the weekends.
Kids have a lot of pressure put on them with testing and grades.
Life is so stressful as a 10 year old these days! I'd love to give them an outlet to use creativity. They are always eager to learn and so excited about music.
My Project
Coming to music could be so exciting with this new instrument that many have never had the chance to play! Every student should have their own, and they'll learn to play songs and sing along with them.
Learning to play the ukulele will enhance musical concepts and get students using different parts of their brain.
Music in our schools is a CRUCIAL thing, and keeping students interested is what will keep it alive! Many students yearn to learn new things, but the same old concepts are taught. Ukuleles are slowly taking over school music programs, and I'd love to pave the way!
