My students need extra strings and felt ukulele picks to use as they learn to play a string instrument.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
I work in a high poverty school in rural southern Illinois. My students are faced with many challenges inside and outside of school. Our school is literally in the middle of a cornfield, so opportunities outside of the community are limited. My students are eager learners, but they have little means of getting the materials necessary to be successful.
Continuing to add to the music program is essential to its sustainability and success.
It brings me so much joy to be able to share the love of music with children every day!
My students received a classroom set of ukuleles through DonorsChoose.org in the Spring with the flash funding through Ripple. We dabbled a bit last year, and I plan on launching a full fledged ukulele program this school year.
We need extra strings to ensure that the ukuleles remain functional throughout our lessons.
I also would like to give the students the option to use a pick if strumming with the fingertips is too uncomfortable for them.
The students are so excited to begin using these ukuleles on a daily basis during music class, and your donation will make that a reality.
