This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing, funny, and loving. As an urban school located in South Florida, 75% of my students receive free/reduced-price lunch. They are motivated students working on their high school diplomas and a technical degree. They are learning to be welders, medical administrations, LPNs, and network designers, to name a few of their fields. Their core classes are on honors or advanced placement level. My students are making plans for the future and working on it now in high school.
My Project
Psychology, the study of the mind. We will look at the history, research and the methods to create a deeper understanding of our learning, cognition and personalities. We will ask questions about social psychology, and abnormal psychology, while comparing what part that nature vs nurture plays in developmental psychology, to understand the human behavior and mental processes. There are many labs that my students will participate in over the school year. We will take data to find the bell curve, mean and mode. We will look for cause and effects, all while testing their hypothesis.
My students will type their final results using the requested keyboards in Canvas.
This becomes very labor intensive using the tablet. They need keyboards to type their scholar reports.
