My Students

My students are like butterflies. They are unique and special in every way. Our classroom is an inclusion setting so we have students with special needs and students without.

If you walked into my classroom I would hope that you wouldn't be able to tell which students have disabilities as it is my daily goal for us to be one big family.

My students are third graders that beautifully represent different cultures, backgrounds, and languages. Our classroom is truly the definition of a diverse community.

My Project

These 10 Chromebooks will support my class with their writing workshop every day. Every month I find free field trips for my third-grade inclusion students to experience. These experiences plant the seeds so that they can draft their experiences from the trip. After drafting in their notebooks, students type on google docs using school shared computers.

The power of having our own set of computers would support my students with disabilities the most, as we would have immediate technology support at their fingertips.

In addition to publishing their many writing pieces, they can also use computers for practicing math, reading, social studies, and science too. Chromebooks in an inclusion classroom gives so many additional opportunities for young learners in a way that meets the educational needs of all.
