This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Art comes in so many different forms. I would love to teach my students about the art of tie dying and screen printing. My fifth graders would use the t-shirts and dye kits for creating original fabric pieces. We would then use these t-shirts to continue our learning with our screen printing unit. The tie dyed patterns would be the perfect background for printing on.

Learning should be memorable and this project would be fun and memorable for my students.

It has become a yearly tradition that all fifth graders look forward to creating their own tshirt. These materials would help my students finish out the year with a great art experience. It is an incredible way of tying up the year!
