Two-Way Radios to Keep Our Students Safe

My project needs 16 two-way radios to be used for campus security during emergency / disaster situations.

I am a principal of a K-5th grade school. In the bay area we are very aware of natural disasters that could take place at any moment. Our school's teachers and parents have worked very hard to get a detailed disaster plan in place. Now that we have the plan in place and everyone has been trained for their positions, we are working on getting the equipment to help things run more smoothly. In May we held a mock disaster drill and we were very happy with the results of that drill. Teachers and students knew exactly where to go and what to do. One of the things that would have helped the drill to run more smoothly would have been two-way radios. These radios would have helped the different teams, such as Search and Rescue and First Aid, communicate with each other and with the Command Center. Being at the Command Center I found that I was not able to lead as effectively as I could have. A lot of time was spent running from area to area to get updates. With the two-way radios we could ensure that all our time is being used efficiently. In the event of a natural disaster our number one concern is the safety of the students and staff at our school. You could help to make that happen.
