My Students

My students come from diverse section of the city of Rochester. They speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi,, Napoli Mandarin, and Arabic. My students are trying their best but need some help.

We have a saying in classroom “Never say “I can’t do something” just say “I’m not there yet”

Some added technology and supplies they would normally use in the classroom will make all the difference in them being able to advance their education.

My Project

When teaching remotely you are in a google meet with your entire class. My classes have twenty-four students in them. That means that in the meet grid I will have twenty-four postage-stamp-sized pictures of my students. Even with glasses, I can just about make out their facial details. Now, add in my screen that I need to use to present material and their pictures are even smaller or not there at all.

Having two screens allows me to use the second monitor to see all my students on a grid at once and to use my computer to present material.

It is like doing two things at the same time. The larger the monitor, the bigger the grid pictures of my students. We would really be able to interact more personally. Considering my district is remote until at least January 19, this would make teaching a lot easier and a little closer to being in-person.
