My Students
Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? Our students need books of interest to them!
Our students love to learn and are very academically successful. We work hard to promote independent reading, which helps our students gain valuable decoding and comprehension skills. These skill help them succeed in the classroom and on standardized tests. A love of reading helps our students become life-long learners.
My Project
Nearly all of the books on the request list have come from the "Suggestion Box" in the library. Many students know what they want to read, and we don't have it! Updating the collection with these new books will get students reading the materials that they truly want to.
Students that read something that they're interested in go on to read more that they're interested in. Old, dingy books only turn students off from reading. New materials will help students access their interests.
