My Students

My students come from many different socio-economic backgrounds. More than half of the student body is on free and/or reduced lunches. Our school K-12 is a Title 1 school. Despite these difficulties, our students are as enthusiastic about learning as the faculty is about teaching and working with them.

In my 30 + years of teaching I have never had a class as large as my homeroom of 26 and I was blessed with having two classes of 26!

My students are very bright. Their problem solving skills during whole group and small group instruction are very well thought out.

My Project

The Samsung Tablet and Chromecast will enable students to share their work and thinking to the entire class. In a class as large as the two I have, these items will play a crucial role in the development of critical thinking skills, skills that are necessary to be successful with the Next Generation Science Standards and current math standards.

Currently students stand in front of my crowded room and use the board to explain their work, often becoming frustrated.

The Chromecast and tablet will allow them to stay at their desk and explain in greater detail their thinking processess.
