My students need SKYPAD tablets to access educational programs at home, just right books, non fiction articles, while familiarizing themselves with technology.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In today's digital world students are being asked to be as familiar with technology as with the content it carries. In some cases this becomes difficult for students to access. Having a tablet they can take with them will give students access to learning in and outside of the classroom.
We belong to a neighborhood school that is rich in diversity and even richer in the support we give to one another.
Many of the qualities we are over flowing with are not quantifiable by any modern educational standards, however the work put in by all staff and students has our eyes focused on one thing that that is cultivating the whole child. This project would help students who may not access these technologies close any achievement gap that those with this access may have.
My Project
Students will use the tablets to construct knowledge through online learning resources. These resources include educational programs aligned to common core standards, online nonfiction articles, and access to books on student individual levels. Students will also be able to familiarize themselves with technology that will help them in our ever evolving digital age.
All of the above reasons will make this a great educational tool for students, but as an educator I can say that without engagement standards are on an island that are inaccessible to students.
This project not only brings student to the best possible learning inside and outside of the classroom, it also engages them and makes them excited to learn and share their work.
