My students need the Samsung Note Tablet to enhance their learning experiences by providing students with engaging and differentiated instruction on a daily basis.
I have twenty six students and four working classroom computers. There is not enough technology in the classroom to meet the diverse learning needs of all students in our inclusive classroom setting. Ultimately, the addition of a tablet will be beneficial for centers and one on one instruction.
My students are twenty first century learners in Georgia.
Since the new millennium, they have been raised and surrounded with technology. Most of my students have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or some other form of a social media account. Education is adaptive and my students are ready to be in a classroom that is reflective of the technological advances in today's society. Our class is filled with students that love learning. We are a part of an International Baccalaureate (PYP) school program which supports students understanding of the world and their place in society. We watch CNN Student News and hold a discussion on the topics presented each day. Students are eager to make a lasting difference in the world.
My Project
The Samsung Note Tablet will become an integral part of the learning experience for students in my classroom. Incorporating the tablet into centers and one on one instruction will take place daily. Centers occur across curriculum with various activities to accommodate for the preferred learning styles (auditory, kinesthetic, and visual, and tactile) of all students. The tablet will serve centers with its educational Android market applications, video/image creations by students, access to Internet for research, and ability to store student work. The function of the tablet during one-on-one instruction is to utilize Android applications and internet resources to build curriculum skills among students with low performance on daily assessments. Students will gain knowledge in each subject through whole class, small group, or individual experiences upon application of the tablet into the classroom.
