We are a downtown Orlando school and our students are as diverse and unique as our beautiful city! Our school has just 219 students, K-8. We are a highly rated, continuously successful school seeking alternative and unique educational solutions to serve our "family". Our students come from across central Florida.
Because we are a charter school we do not receive the same funding as a traditional public school, so we are forced to find creative sources to obtain new teaching materials, technology and furniture and to keep current with today's technology.
My Project
LECS is an urban school in the middle of downtown Orlando. Our school is very limited on funding as we are a charter school. I want to bring the process of chick hatching to my classroom to supplement my students' understanding of the life cycle of chickens. Help me buy an incubator and egg candler tester to observe the eggs changing. The cage, feeder, and waterer will allow us to keep the chicks in our classroom safely for observation after they hatch. We will be donating the chicks to a local farm in Central Florida after they hatch.
Hands-on science experiences such as chick hatching are those that students will remember for the rest of their lives.
Please help me by funding the materials I need to offer this experience in my classroom!
