Hello! I am currently a first grade teacher in the Soundview section of The Bronx. I have a fantastic group of students who are energized and eager to learn. A TV/DVD player would be a major enhancement to their educational experience. Last year, we studied “Charlotte's Web” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. It would have been perfect to finish our unit with showing them the films, except, we have no TV! My school is over 75 years old and has no elevators, so it is impossible for teachers to share technology unless it exists on the floor that you work on. My class consists of about 20 first graders who come from difficult living situations. For many, money and food are scarce. School is a place they come as an escape from the harshness of home. I love my students and try to give them every experience I can. This technology would be a fantastic addition to their learning experience! Thanks for reading!
