This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Are trees really green? I can't tell because the picture is in black and white".
My first grade students are attending a public school in Colorado.
The majority of my students are Hispanic and African American coming from a lower socio-economic status. Many of my students are English Language Learners. My students are mostly performing below grade level. The students are excited about learning and reading.
My Project
My classroom is a high-poverty classroom so I have strict limits on the supplies that I am given. 90% of my students are English Language Learners. I print out images to introduce key vocabulary words or use pictures to teach my students key concepts. Since my school only has a black and white copier it is hard for the students to see the pictures that I print out. When I am teaching key vocabulary words it is essential that my students see the picture in color to understand the concept.
With your help you will be able to provide my classroom with color and the basic needs for my students.
My students are very eager to learn. Not only will you help me provide basic materials to enhance their learning but you will also help me inspire and create a long lasting love for learning.
