My fourth graders are excited about learning and working collaboratively together. Their range of creativity and personality is astounding. Being a homeroom host teacher for an inclusion classroom, I get the tremendous rewards of witnessing student growth behaviorally and academically on a daily basis.
I firmly believe that all students can learn with the right tools and support.
It is my job to make sure I am preparing my students to the best of my abilities. Students need access to a variety of methods of learning to reach their full potential. Today, technology is the key to excite student learning through real-world application.
My Project
My students are living in a technological world that assumes all students have the know-how and ability to accurately use technology. Technology will enhance and evolve their learning experiences while also encouraging their love of learning. Students will be able to interact and collaborate with the lessons and take ownership of their learning experiences. All students have the desire to learn, but they must be engaged in the method in which they are taught.
This project will allow me to enhance my teaching strategies through the use of these Chromebooks.
Students will be able to work collaboratively in all content areas with this technology. They will be able to research important people, places, and events to strengthen their learning. I will be able to encourage more discovery and inquiry learning by the students.
They will be able to practice important skills for reading and math (Prodigy, ReadWorks, Sheppard Software, Quizlet, etc.). Also, the technology will enable students to practice necessary typing and formatting skills by publishing their writings in a more professional layout. I will be able to adequately prepare my students to grow academically and promote the growth of their creativity.
