My students come from poor socio-economic backgrounds, but they do not let that stop their learning! They come in eager everyday to learn new things and have new experiences. They are also anxious to try new things, improve their learning, and find out new information. They have can-do attitudes and a willingness to always try their best, no matter what. They make coming to school each day fun, exciting, and inspiring! I am lucky to be part of a classroom and school that also acts like a family.
My Project
These materials will make a huge difference in my students successs. Due to the economic status of many of the families in my building, many of my students are struggling learners. With hands on materials, fun folder games, and out-of-the-box teaching materials, I am better able to reach them at their academic level and encourage and motivate them to keep reaching higher in their learning.
The intervention reading folders will be used to work in small groups and one on one with struggling students.
These leveled materials help me reach students on their levels and encourage them to keep trying and to be successful. The math manipulatives, games, and hands on materials encourage children into knowing that leaning can be a lot of fun!
