My students need alternative lighting in our classroom. Florescent lighting can be difficult to handle for large amounts of time. Lamps will improve the lighting quality in our classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I found an "a","a" alligator", a child exclaims while engaging with materials in the sensory table. Each day I get to see twenty tiny minds engage in learning in an excited and authentic way. I love teaching four year olds because of their enthusiasm for learning.
I am especially inspired by my current group of students because they are not only learning the alphabet for the first time, but English.
We are a Title One school which caters to a large population of ESL learners. I adore working with this population of students. They never cease to exceed my expectations and tackle learning a new language with determination.
My Project
A classroom environment has much to do with the learning that takes place in it. Young students must feel welcomed, comfortable and safe in their classroom before any learning can take place. The lighting of a room affects a student's mood, vision, health and behavior.
Harsh florescent lighting can cause migraines, present visibility issues and negatively affect circadian rhythms; which is why I want to use lamps as a primary light source in my classroom.
I believe that receiving the lamps I have requested will allow me to create a more positive classroom environment. I would plan to use these lamps and natural lighting from the windows in place of florescent lighting.
Our classroom is our second home during the school year. For this reason it is so important to me that our room feel welcoming and comfortable for all to learn.
