My students need and would greatly appreciate the Hamilton Audio Visual Stereo Headsets with volume control, as we have students with special needs such as hard of hearing or with hearing aids.
My students live in a very small community, and many even live as far as 15+ miles away from the school (as we are the closest one). They are polite, well-mannered and appreciative, but, for the most part, they live a life of poverty or at least way below the national average. In many homes, and even within our school, many things are outdated, overused, re-purposed and broken, so the students are extremely grateful for anything "new" brought into the classroom and for all things provided to them.
What I would love for my students to receive are over-the-ear headphones for use with our Chromebooks.
There are so many different types of headphones on the market, but we need some that are "kid-resistant" and will put up with almost daily use.
The ability to utilize Chromebooks in the class for science and social studies interactive activities, educational games and online Techbooks with sound are some of the best foundational aspects of the 21st Century that will benefit my students across the curriculum and for many years to come!
My Project
A classroom is a noisy place on most days with projects and ideas riveting between students and their teacher.
With these volume control headphones, it will help keep the noise to a minimum while allowing for learning at a level all students can enjoy.
Imagine sitting in a room with 25+ students all listening to the same website, at different points in the video or interactive...it would drive a person mad just thinking about it!
Having these Hamilton Audio Visual Stereo Headsets in the class helps students with opportunities to learn and focus, especially while online, but they can even be used as noise muffling for some students sensitive to even the slightest sound during our quiet testing moments.
