Help me give my students 20 Korg Tuners enabling them to tune their instruments efficiently and effectively while building a solid foundation for their success as musicians.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a part of a fairly new Orchestra program and have the opportunity to set the bar for generations to come. In the short amount of time I have known them, they have shown such great promise and care for their craft. They are talented, hard-working musicians eager to learn and succeed.
I never imagined students who had such a genuine love of music could exist, and even harder to fathom that I would be the lucky one to teach them.
My Project
Tuning our instruments is the first step in preparing to play music. Right now, students are using apps on their phones in order to tune. Although the app is a good resource, it is not ideal in a classroom setting because every student is attempting to tune simultaneously and the microphone will pick up multiple sounds instead of focusing on only one. Clip-on tuner pickups can be purchased separately (which I will personally acquire) to be connected to the Korg tuners and clipped on the students instruments, allowing for the tuner to only focus on the instrument it is clipped onto.
These tuners will help the tuning process be significantly more effective and efficient and will allow for more instruction and playing time.
