My students need headphones to tune in to the technology that we use on a daily basis. The headphones will be used on our computers and iPads. The toothbrushes and batteries will help us build ROBOTS!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a classroom full of energetic first graders. They are inquisitive, curious, and energetic. I have 10 girls and 8 boys. They are very diverse and are all uniquely amazing. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to teach them all.
LITTLE PEOPLE (ALL PEOPLE) LOVE TECHNOLOGY!
In my classroom, we have an use a lot of technology to keep the students engaged and learning.
My classroom community is loving, silly, and always in motion. The students love to sing and dance!
My Project
I am really excited about this project. The headphones will keep my students engaged, but the classroom calm and quiet while learning is taking place. These items will help to improve my classroom community and routines of our day by allowing multiple activities to go on simultaneously (as they do now) with less commotion. Students that are at my reading table for small group will not have to tune out the "fun sounds" from the iPads anymore.
We will turn the electric toothbrushes into Robots called Doodlebots!
The goal is for each student to assemble a robot that can draw! They will then modify it to produce better drawings. Students will get to use their creativity, scientific skills, and have lots of fun doing it!
