Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most people are well aware that music can lower blood pressure, boost the immune system, help reduce pain and inflammation, but it can also encourage imagination, promote creative thinking, and expose children to cultural diversity.

We have music in our schools, but no one to teach and demonstrate to our students how to maintain and repair these instruments.

If we know that listening to music exposes children to different patterns of sound and melodies, allowing them to think more broadly about ideas, that it improves children's learning skills and IQ levels as it makes connections between brain cells, which helps children advance their speaking, reading, and understanding, then why isn't maintenance and repair important?

The club has a guitar already, so a bass would be ideal for comparison to show the similarities and differences of repair. A group of students and I are hoping to expand our "Tuned Up" Guitar/Bass Club to the next level, by equipping students with the tools needed to take care of a piece of equipment and understand the importance of responsibility.
