My 3rd grade students are excited to learn especially when using hands-on activities or playing games. They live in a rural area in Middlesboro, Kentucky where more than 90% receive free/ reduced lunch. Many are raised by grandparents, other family members, or guardians other than their parents. They love being a part of organized games and activities. Any opportunity I can give them to work together practicing manners and taking turns while practicing the content they have learned is exciting.
What students wouldn't love to review a variety of reading skills through playing games? Students enjoy playing so much that they often forget that they are learning too.
I am asking for tumbling blocks that I can paint to coordinate with my reading task cards within my classes.
I have chosen six sets of Jenga games so that students will be able to work in small groups and have more opportunities to play.
Also, these materials can be used over and over again for a variety of subject areas and skills. They can easily be shared within grade levels or subject areas.
