Practice Room Pizazz is about morale. Our walls are grey, all of them! The fluorescent lights, daunting and dizzying. I and my students find our practice room environments a bit draining emotionally. What if our practice rooms could be filled with inspiring messages, warm/homey lighting, and positive vibes. If there's one thing my students need, it's inspiration. This project does that swiftly and with student choice.
My students have helped me choose the socio-emotional needs for this project, such as finding warmer, easy going lighting; adding tapestries, inspirational quotes, and artwork that inspire and convey positivity, and lastly to add tactile surfaces sensory output.
It is important that with the artwork and posters chosen, we are conveying messages that everyone is deserving of love, friendship and that they are beautiful and accepted whoever they are or choose to be. Please consider that these items are not frivolous but necessary to cultivating a positively, healthy, healing environment.
