Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students come from the Vickery Meadows Area of Dallas. It is highly concentrated area of apartment complexes, where 90% of all my students live.
Many of my students came into this country as refugees from countries like Burma, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand, Chad, Somalia and other parts of Africa, Asia and South America.
They are very thankful to receive the education they are getting here in America. They are very excited about the new direction NAF AOIT is taking towards programming nad software/application development. We have also introduced AP Computer Science Principles class last year.
My Project
I need help to pay for Technology Students Association (TSA) Chapter launch in our school. By enrolling, our students will be able to participate in their tech competitions, visit tech expos and have access to other valuable resources from TSA.
My students and I will appreciate every cent you provide for this good cause that can have lasting effects in my students school-life.
According to the website of the Technology Students Association, “The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national organization of students engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Open to students enrolled in or who have completed technology education courses, TSA’s membership includes more than 250,000 middle and high school students across the United States. TSA is supported by educators, parents, and business leaders who believe in the need for a technologically literate society. Members learn through exciting competitive events, leadership opportunities, and much more. A wide range of activities makes TSA a positive experience for every student."
