Why should budget cuts affect our children’s future? Unfortunately, the state of the economy is such that our students are greatly suffering. Not only are teachers victims of the budget cuts, but much more importantly, budget cuts are affecting the students. I teach ninth and tenth grade global history in a multi-cultural urban school where technology is extremely limited. I would like to be able to offer my students the greatest capability to ensure their place in the world. My job is to prepare them for college and by using technology, I will be equipped with tools to empower my students for their college education.
My students are an extremely diverse group of learners. They have shown great interest in PowerPoint slide shows. Unfortunately, I am restricted to the amount of PowerPoint’s that I can present in my classroom because of the limited amount of technology within my city school.
I would like the capability to teach efficiently to all the different learning styles within a classroom period. PowerPoint presentations allow visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners to gain knowledge effectively at the same time. By projecting my wide-ranging differentiated PowerPoint presentations, I believe my students will benefit immensely in my classroom.
Your help will ensure that my students will rise above the budget cuts and reach their full potential. I want nothing more than to adequately prepare them for college and constructively edify the youth of tomorrow. This projector will not only help my current students, but will continue to aid in the education of future generations of thousands of students I will teach in my career.
