I need a MacBook laptop for my professional development to become the teacher my students need by creating superior lessons and amazing intervention for my students. I also included extra an charger, and 2 jump drives.
The students that I teach are between 10th and 12th grade. The students in my class have a clinical diagnosis of Severe Emotional disturbance. They are in a single classroom all day, because they have a hard time interacting with other peers and adults. This is my fifth year as an ED teacher and they are the most inspirational students I know. They all have hardships at home. Their lives are filled with poverty, drugs, gangs, and myself; who thinks the world of them. I will have these students for the next one to three years, so they will benefit from these supplies for a long time. Our School is a career tech high school and all of our students are being educated to be career and college ready.
Typically my students are referred to as the "bad student" and that is the farthest from the truth.
They just need someone on their side. In our class, we have created that space for our students. Now they feel comfortable with us, and we want to give them the same opportunity. We believe in them.
My Project
I would like to request a MacBook to assist me with accessing a wider variety of professional development opportunities in and using current technology. A MacBook would allow and help me to access Apple's Education modules on the web. I have been lucky enough to be in a district that purchased me a class set. However I am an android user, and need a Mac to utilize the iPad to their fullest potential. Having a MacBook would allow me to participate in webinars, and have access to educational apps. I am hoping to be a pioneer of Apple in my school, developing and integrating Apple technology in my classroom. I believe that a MacBook would allow me to develop and integrate technology into my lessons. My goal is to build my knowledge and use of technology as a pivotal part of my instruction so that I can provide a diverse learning environment that is crucial to all my students' various learning needs.
My classroom environment will be greatly improved with the addition of a MacBook, because it will allow me to integrate technology that would improve, my students' learning outcomes through the curriculum and technology usage.
As a result, my students will enjoy the creative lessons that I will be able to provide with the MacBook. In addition, I am super excited about the possibility of providing this technology for the students in my classroom, such as Apple Classroom. This MacBook Pro will also assist with writing and reporting on my students' learning success and most importantly grow as an educator to better serve my students. This will help me as an intervention specialist, in addition to being an English and History teacher.
