Trying to Keep It Cool!

My gifted and talented students need an indoor air conditioner. We cannot install a window air conditioner because of electrical wiring issues. Therefore, we are trying to buy an indoor air conditioner to keep the class cool!

2nd grade Gifted & Talented class trying to keep it cool! Our gifted & talented students are in 2nd grade, but they are learning on a 3rd grade level in the classroom. I can honestly say my 24 students are gifted and talented! They are creative, fun, intelligent, mature, and sympathetic to other students' needs. I wish I could give them everything they need in the classroom, but with the budget cuts there is only so much I can buy for them each year. As you can see from our class picture, I will stop at nothing to provide these children a fun and safe environment. However, even though the classroom feels “like home” to these students, the temperature does not. Everyday after recess they are staring at me with red faces asking me to turn off our huge fan because they can not hear me teach. Please help! I want to keep it cool for my 2nd grade children and continue learning!

Do you remember the time you came back from recess and the teacher hit the lights off and said “put your head on the desk and rest” No matter how long you rested your head, you never felt cooler. I remember that day as if it was yesterday and watching my gifted students melt into their desks at the end of the day breaks my heart. Our current classroom does not have a window air conditioner due to electrical installation issues. My fantastic gifted students are ready to give their all, but they admit it’s just too hot after recess. I am sad to see we have to spend so much time cooling down instead of learning. We need your help! We are hoping if we install and indoor air conditioner it will help keep us cool! Join us on our mission to get a small indoor air conditioner for our classroom! My wonderful students would be extremely grateful!

If we receive an indoor air conditioner it will maintain a normal temperature in the room. With a small fan blowing cool air it will allow the students the opportunity to cool down at a faster rate and continue learning on their advanced level. Isn’t it amazing how a little electrical appliance can make all the difference in 24 gifted & talented students’ lives! You could be apart of that how special is that!

If you decided to check out our page there is a reason for you being here. I want the donor to know these 24 students always come first in my life until summer. I want every single student to have it all! I can’t share with you some of their stories, but I can say my students are very tough and they have seen a lot in their little life times. I want them to work hard and for a change not worry about all the little things like keeping cool in class. They deserve a chance to be seven and learn in a comfortable environment. Please help me on my new project, every little donation counts!
