My students are "my kids" as soon as they walk into our classroom. I want them to perform at their best, giving 100% effort in their work and I want them to feel comfortable and confident! They have a lot of energy and enthusiasm.
Fourth grade is such a fun age...they still want to help the teacher with "jobs" and are excited by the littlest things.
They are at the age where the boys and girls start to like each other, so there can often be some interesting stories about the events at recess!
Many of my kids play sports such as: soccer, baseball, basketball, dance/gymnastics. Several students speak a language other than English at home. They are a multi-talented group, and I learn from them just as much as they learn from me!
My Project
Help me give my students an option when it comes to sitting. Many students (and adults) find it difficult to sit in a chair at a desk for long periods of time. These balance ball seats are a wonderful way to change it up. My students will have the opportunity to sit on a balance ball seat, while doing their work, as an option. This will help my kids to be able to focus better and get some of their "fidgity-ness" out at the same time. Not only are they fun to sit on to complete work, but they will make great incentives to use for free time!
