Our kindergarteners are ready to learn! They are 5-6 years old and for many, this is their first experience in a formal classroom. Many of these students come from apartments or homes with little to no outdoor play space. These kindergarteners love to be outside! We spend as much time outside as possible and work to give our students a well-rounded classroom experience that appeals to their very wide variety of interests.
Our kindergarten/preschool building works to create a strong community by planning and creating quality experiences throughout the year that all students can participate in.
We create projects that connect classes and give students a chance to meet their peers as well as other adults within the building. We pride ourselves on ensuring that the students come first - always. We encourage them to take risks and celebrate the positive things they do every day.
My Project
The toy trucks and road signs will be placed in a garden bed that used to be overtaken by weeds. They will help to make sure every area on our playground is utilized to help all students have a safe and educationally stimulating place to play and explore.
Our students love to be outside and interact with real world objects!
The trucks and signs will help students to recognize common road signs, experiment with road rules, and use bridges for cars to cross and ramps for cars to go down. Including these on the playground will allow students from all classes to interact and build teamwork skills to create a highway, roads, or even a whole town!
