Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach high school photography and publications/yearbook. My students are amazing! They are kind, caring, and inquisitive. My students come from very diverse backgrounds, and many have not had it easy. All of my students are choosing to be part of the photography and yearbook classes. I know that my students deserve to have an amazing photography and yearbook program. With your help, my students can have the photography and yearbook classes they deserve. Students gain so much from experiencing the arts, please help me give my students what they need to be successful.
My Project
My publication students are the photojournalists & yearbook journalists of our school, they go to all the students activities, and sporting events. They take pictures of everything happening throughout the year, and then write up the story to go along with the pictures, that will be reflected on for decades to come.
My students need 6 good quality aluminum tripods, so that they can take photographs without a blur, a lot of sporting events, and student activities happen at night and it's really hard to get a good shot without a tripod.
Students will put their camera on their tripod to keep it steady.
My students, and our school community deserve great photos and stories to enjoy for their lifetimes. Tripods will help my students become better photojournalists.
Journalism is really important to my students future, they not only are learning how to take great pictures that tell a story, they are also learning how to write a good story, this will help them do well in college, and career. They also are learning about real life deadlines which builds time management skills.
