Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently finishing the year at one school and I am moving to my new school for the 2018-2019 school year. Both schools are Title I.
My students are energetic, enthusiastic and motivated learners.
My pupils have a unique variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles. In kindergarten, it is developmentally appropriate to have lessons where the kids have opportunities to interact hands-on and creatively. In kindergarten, we must focus on rigorous academics, free play, creativity, and developing fine and gross motor skills.
My Project
I am requesting funding for a bus to Tree People. Tree People is a nature reserve. The kindergartners will participate in an eco-tour. The children will learn about nature and ways to protect our earth. They will learn about how taking care of the world we live in benefits animals, the eco-system, and ourselves. We were lucky to receive a scholarship to waive our admission fees. We just need a bus to take us there!
I hope the children will have a hands-on interactive experience learning STEM science standards and ways they can take care of our environment that will benefit the plants and animals in our eco-system.
Fun life experiences create lasting memories. This naturally results in a positive impact on learning. Our school has an organic edible garden. The children take classes in the garden throughout the year. This trip aligns with the curriculum.
