My students need tricycles since ours were damaged by someone over the summer break. We are also in need of a new cd/tape player and test manual to continue our Fitnessgram testing.
A typical day in my classroom is full of fun and excitement! The kids love PE and I love teaching them. I want my students to truly discover a love for fitness that they may not receive if not for what they get here at school. My biggest challenge in getting them there is lack of necessary items.
My students are challenged by poverty and broken homes.
We are a Title One school and a very large percentage of our school is on free or reduced lunch. The kids here are some of the most amazing, caring, loving kids I have ever worked with. They strive to please and work hard to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves during the year. I love seeing the looks on their faces when they come to the gym, and want to provide them with all I can as their teacher!
My Project
The trikes are used during station work with my K-2 students on a pretty regular basis. They love riding the trikes and I was sad to see that someone damaged two of ours so badly this summer that they had to be thrown away. From the use of the trikes the students will add another lifelong physical activity to their list of ones they truly enjoy.
I am requesting the new cd/cassette player and the newly updated Fitnessgram CD so that my older group can continue with our annual testing. My tape player is losing pieces left and right and is on its way out! We will continue our testing of student's cardiovascular endurance and physical endurance with this requested equipment.
Donating to this project will allow me to continue my efforts to build children up physically and mentally in the gym.
Our kids love learning new things and are so excited to come to class each week! I want to make sure that they have everything necessary to continue to improve their love for physical activity!
