The best and most beautiful things in the world are in my classroom every day.
I know exactly what Helen Keller was talking about. My students come from every imaginable background with different stories to tell and experiences to share. They all deserve kindness and respect. Learning their stories as the year progresses is sometimes humorous, enlightening, mysterious, and even frightening at times. The heart is the perfect beginning to feel their stories.
My Project
I am in the process of finishing a math class. In the class I've discovered that the art of playing games that I grew up with, seems to be a lost art! Not only are the games lost, but so is math foundation that gets built with it along the way.
Let's make math fun without them realizing they are doing math!
Pretty clever! My mission is to take the games I've discovered in the math class and send them home in take home bags with the students and have them play them at home.
I will make it a weekly set of games, sometimes it will involve dice, other times cards, or math squares.
