Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a reading specialist in a Title I primary school. 100% of our students receive a free lunches. Each student is provided a breakfast in the morning. My school has a high population of students with special needs and English Language Learners.

We have Tribe Pride at our building.

Students earn Tribe Pride Feathers for being brave, responsible, attentive, very respectful, excellent, and safe according to our PBIS Matrix.

Every Friday, each classroom has a drawing for two feathers. Then, the students earn a trip to the Friendly Feather Cart to pick a prize. When they hear the happy music coming there way, they get so excited to see which friends will be chosen.

My Project

On Fridays, students are rewarded for their positive behaviors. Students have drawings completed by each classrooms then the students are allowed a trip to the Flashy Feather Cart for a positive reward including snacks, stickers, pencils, and little toys. Tribe Pride Feathers are earned for being brave, responsible, attentive, very respectful and energetic. Students hear the happy and upbeat music coming down the hallway and their faces light because they know they are going to be acknowledge for their positive choices and behaviors by their teachers, assistants, and class friends.
